Traditional planning cause’s confusion, complexity, diminished self –confidence, and capability to act. Coaching allows the investor to cut through, simplify, clarify, and experience ever growing levels of personal confidence in the face of changing technology and volatile investment markets.
The traditional financial planning model does not help you address these questions in any meaningful way. Instead, financial planning is often used as a device to push product onto investors that, in turn, pay a high commission to the advisor/planner. In this case, the plan is done more for the benefit of the salesperson versus the peace of mind and well-being of the investor. What is good for the planner and financial institutions is often at odds with what is best for the investor.
Mark is “fee-only,” that means he is not fee-based or commission based.
A fee-only or Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) means the RIA has a fiduciary obligation to their clients. That means they have to put their clients interests first above their own. This is important because someone who is fee based or commission based does not have that same fiduciary obligation. This also means the Investor Coach (RIA) is transparent. They don’t get any kick back from any company for using any particular investment. The only compensation Mark gets is what he charges and there is nothing more than that.[/private]
